FS Italiane Group acquires City Sightseeing Italy Group and Florenita Bus

Florence, 15 January 2026 – The Italian State Railways Group, through its subsidiary Busitalia, has acquired 100% of the F.lli Maddii Group, owners of Florentia Bus and majority shareholder of the City Sightseeing Italy and Sightseeing Experience group, in addition to the minority shareholdings held by the Zani Group in the City Sightseeing Italy group, giving life to one of the main Italian realities in tourist transport and tourist services.

The acquisition was completed this morning in Rome, with the signing by Ing. Fabio Maddii, President of City Sightseeing Italy and Dr. Serafino Lo Piano, CEO and General Manager of Busitalia, together with that of all the shareholders of the F.lli Maddii Group.

Founded in 1928 in the heart of Valdarno in Tuscany as a family business linked to the transport of local workers, the F.lli Maddii Group has gone through almost a century of industrial evolution, gradually transforming itself into a reference operator in tourist mobility services, rental, commercial lines, open buses and tours and activities for tourists who visit Italy every year. A path of growth carried out by four generations and built on entrepreneurial vision, adaptability and strong attention to people.

Today the Group represents the Italian leader in the open bus tourist market, with a widespread presence in the country's main cities of art. The transaction includes all the companies of the F.lli Maddii Group: Florentiabus, Sightseeing Experience and the City Sightseeing Italy network, active, directly or through subsidiaries or investee companies in Turin, Milan, Genoa, La Spezia, Civitavecchia, Livorno, Florence, Rome, Naples, Palermo and Verona.

Overall, the Group has over 170 vehicles, about 300 employees and an integrated offer that ranges from urban sightseeing service to tour operating through the offer dedicated to the cruise market, representing a solid, recognized industrial asset that is highly complementary to FS's development strategy in the market mobility and tourism segment.
